Competition Is life rushing past you? Competition is there for anyone who feels like the hare but longs to be the tortoise. The band is on the hunt for an escape, and if you try to find them on Instagram, you’ll be directed to a Tumblr page. No algorithms, no endless doomscrolling—the fourpiece keeps their music raw and direct, free from excess or pretense. Frontmen Guus Timmermans and Sam Cuppen delve into themes of human alienation and the fast pace of modern life. Their kinetic performances and unexpected hooks take you out of the daily grind for a moment. Welcome to Competition; an indie/art punk band born out of the creative melting pot of De Basis in Nijmegen, with roots in Thaïti, Waltzburg, and Foxlane.
