The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival: David Labi
Fatherload
He spent years of his life chasing cheap thrills across the globe. Now, David is sober, stuck, and staring down his greatest challenge. A baby. And it's his. Hilarious, moving, and brutally honest. Fatherload is a look at modern fatherhood, from a man hoping his baby will inherit more than his mistakes. “Labi shows how male makers, too, are participating in a new culture of vulnerability and anti-patriarchal resistance. It’s precisely his struggle with this that makes this ‘manologue’ so spot-on and hilarious.” - De Standaard [kop3]Bio[/kop3] David Labi is an ethical storyteller using art and empathy to build more just and sustainable societies. Born in London, he was a fervent youth activist and ran workshops on diverse topics for thousands of youths. [kop3]About The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival 2026[/kop3] When it gets dark and cold outside, it means one thing: it’s time to gather and warm our hearts with stories. This year, The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival invites you to meet The Seer. Not as a fortune teller, but as a listener of truth. Blind to appearances and distractions, The Seer notices what others overlook, seeing what cannot be seen with ordinary eyes. Through performances, talks, and workshops, the festival opens space for stories that dare to explore the uncomfortable, the unseen, and the unknown. From inner worlds to the edges of life and death, from visions to imagination… unspoken truths, looming disasters, secrets behind the masks. The Seer knows. Who dares to listen? The Amsterdam Storytelling Festival 2026 takes place on November 6–15 at Podium Mozaïek, Amsterdam. Prefer to visit the festival a full day? You can!
