Club Amsterdam Klezmer ★ Amsterdam Klezmer Band 30 years! AKB live + mystery guest Thursday 26.11.2026 @ Mezrab The Amsterdam Klezmer Band returns to the Mezrab! Founded in 1996, for three whole decades de Amsterdam Klezmer Band has been amongst the best klezmer and Balkan music has to offer to the global stage, racking up over 2,500 shows from Siberia via Western Europe all the way to Brazil. Therefore it's time for a proper celebration with our fans, friends and family at our favourite Mokum's club Mezrab! With a massive discography of 20 albums under their belt, these legends aren't just playing klezmer—they’re completely reinventing it from the ground up, injecting pure, playful energy and capturing the music at its absolute peak of joy. They effortlessly blend traditional hooks and original tracks, all driven by the band’s unique, irresistible powerhouse sound. We’re talking dark dances, colliding with infectious Sirba and cocek rhythms, Motown grooves, Turkish 9/8 pulses, jazz improv, spoken word and rap! AKB is all about getting bodies moving, sparking deep connections, and keeping the klezmerbalkan vibe alive and kicking as a shared language. This night isn’t some nostalgic trip down memory lane—it’s a high-octane snapshot of where Amsterdam Klezmer Band is at right now: deeply rooted, relentlessly creative, and irresistibly alive!
